Mr. Phillips has successfully litigated and settled disputes ranging from employment discrimination to breach of real estate contracts. Mr. Phillips has litigation experience in foreclosures and creditors' rights. Before attending law school, Mr. Phillips has several years of management experience for Fortune 500 companies such as Southwest Airlines and Sears Holdings (formerly K-Mart Logistics). Mr. Phillips' experience includes leadership in the private sector in the supervision of union and non-union work groups for 30 to 100 employees. Due to his strong business acumen and legal writing skills, Mr. Phillips was chosen to participate on the Florida State Business Review. Mr. Phillips leadership experience extends to the non-profit arena as well. In 1996, as the Program Director for VOICE, Inc., Mr. Phillips procured over $450,000 in funds to provide needed support and services to at-risk youth in Corsicana, Texas. Mr. Phillips helped establish a solid community organization that has been in place for nearly 20 years and has expanded across central Texas.
Mr. Phillips is licensed to practice law in all state courts in Florida; and in the United States District Court in the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida. Mr. Phillips has also been successful in appealing to the District Courts of Appeal in Florida state courts.Before graduating from Florida State Law, Mr. Phillips worked as a law clerk in a family law firm. Mr. Phillips was also involved in Florida State University Student Judicial Affairs and served as chair of a Student Judicial Board and he completed volunteer work for Leon County Public Defenders Office. While pursuing his Master's Degree in Public Administration at the University of Central Florida, Mr. Phillips volunteered his time with the Legal Aid Society of the Orange County Bar Association. Mr. Phillips earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in Public Administration and in Sociology from the University of North Texas and an Associate of Arts degree from Navarro College in Corsicana, Texas.
